Petrina & Tom – Sept ’10

Venues… All Saints C of E Church, Ripley Derbyshire followed by wedding reception at Nottingham University.

We only had 5 hours with Petrina and Tom on the 28th September this year. Meeting the groom at the Church with bright skies and strong shadows, followed by Petrina arriving in a Hawaiian decked out VW white camper van. Her bridesmaids glowed in their lime-green summer dresses and Petrina had lovely vintage touches with her accessories. A graphic designer by trade, Petrina gave us a lovely insight into what she had in mind and was delighted to see Dave using our latest addition to our equipment, the leica M9. Having the Leica as our second camera means that we can really get the true feeling of film, with the speed of digital. We can be even more creative and playful with the way we shoot and combining this with a DSLR means that we get the best from two very different cameras and ways of using them.

A church wedding followed by an intimate cake reception, this was a close family and friends wedding with around 20 people making cupcakes, brownies and cups of tea for them to enjoy.

The Portland Building on Nottingham University campus presented us with grand stone backdrops, beautiful walled gardens and lovely light for our groups. They wanted to involve their quirky VW van in the photographs as much as possible so we used it both inside and out…we even had a little drive in it ourselves whilst making our way to various areas around the campus.

We stayed until the line up began and then left them to enjoy their wedding breakfast.

Petrina and Tom decided they wanted CD only coverage of their wedding.
